Jane was described at school as having an 'extremely sensitive eye", excelled with top marks in Art and Photography and gained national recognition. She continued her studies in Graphic Design at Auckland Technical Institute. For the last 8 years Jane has been working full time as a contemporary realist painter, continuously developing her style. Her inspirations evolve through the energy and emotion of the present and from her inner spirit, in which she endeavours to portray positive messages of calm and personal growth to envelope and inspire. New Zealand's natural forms, textures and culture are a continued appearance in her work. 2011 sees the introduction of the human figure with her birds creating storylines with messages. Being very aware of the earth, the universe, and her environment, concerns regarding conservation and preservation of New Zealand’s indigenous species have become a strong occurrence in Jane’s recent themes. Her work sells throughout New Zealand and to overseas. She is a published artist who can be found in ‘New Zealand’s Favourite Artists 2’ by Denis Robinson.
Jane lives in Pukekawa North Waikato on a lifestyle property with her husband and 2 sons. Her studio, Studio 208, is situated on the premises and visitors are welcome by appointment. If you would like to follow the progress of her work she has set up a Facebook page solely for that purpose and updates daily with photos of work in progress.
